ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF DIRECT-COUPLED COMPUTER CIRCUIT ELEMENTS EMPLOYING MOS TRANSISTORS,

Abstract

An analysis is made of a circuit operating with direct connections using MOS transistors. Methods of designing single elements are discussed. Matching conditions of such circuits and the criterion of nondistortion transmission of given signal levels in logic circuits are also considered. It was found that if MOS transistors are used with induced channels the direct matching of logic circuits can be accomplished only by using the the sauce type of transistors. Analyses are made of the static characteristics and transient processes in a key circuit, and of the static condition of the trigger. The switching characteristics of NOT-OR and NOT-AND logic circuits are given. The design of these circuits is reduced to the design of a key circuit with one transistor.
