SIMPLIFICATION OF THE DISPLACEMENT METHOD FOR CALCULATING THE STRENGTH, STABILITY, AND VIBRATIONS OF RIGID TRUSSES,

Abstract

The basic unknowns in displacement methods now used for calculating the strength, vibrations, and stability of rigid trusses are the angles of rotation of rigid joints and the linear displacement of independent joints. In accordance with the method explained in this paper, half or over half of the angles of rotation of joints need not be obtained in order to solve a problem. As a result, the displacement method is simplified. (Author)
