GENERAL DECISION OF AN ANALOG-DIGITAL COMPUTER SYSTEM BASED ON THE 'URAL-2' DIGITAL COMPUTER,

Abstract

An interface unit for a hybrid computer system which may use any analog machine and the Ural-2 digital computer is described. The unit makes it possible to compute with higher accuracy than is attainable with an analog machine alone, and to increase operating speed and alleviate the burden placed on the digital computer's main memory in handling complex problems. The interface unit consists of A/D and D/A converters. Ten inputs and outputs are available for digitally coded information (i.e., two 10-bit flip-flop registers) and eight channels each are provided for analog input and output signals.
