The construction of the breakwater to improve Santa Barbara harbor has developed critical problems. An integral part of the problem at Santa Barbara is the source of the sand. One possible means of determining the source is mineral grain studies. The present report presents results of such a study made by the Institute of Engineering Research in cooperation with the Beach Erosion Board.
