PLASTIC DEFORMATION OF SINGLE CRYSTALS BY PLANE-STRAIN COMPRESSION.

Abstract

Single crystals of Mg and Mg-4Li and Mg-.4Th alloys were grown and tested in plane-strain. Tests were also made on textured polycrystalline sheets of these alloys. Crystals of Al-4Cu were prepared by strain-anneal techniques and subjected to plane-strain compression tests. (Author)
