AN INVESTIGATION OF THE MEANS OF ARRESTING A ROCKET PROPELLED VEHICLE TRAVELLING AT 1000 ft/s.

Abstract

An investigation was made of the possibility, should the retro-rocket fail, of arresting a rocket propelled vehicle travelling at 1000 ft/s. The evaluation was undertaken on the high speed test track at P. and E.E. Pendine. The main study was confined to the use of nylon materials as part of an arrester system but alternatives were considered. (Author)
