RESEARCH IN COMPUTER-AIDED TRANSLATION, RUSSIAN TO ENGLISH.

Abstract

There are four sections in the report. The first is a review of major developments in the field of automatic language translation during the sixties. This review is a modified version of an article written by the principal investigator for publication in 'Advances in Computers', Vol. 10 (Academic Press). The second section is a brief statement on programming considerations for the new system. The third section describes two studies carried out by the linguistic staff. The final section is a description of research in the development of an automatic system for translating Japanese telegrams into English. (Author)
