THE UNSTEADY AND STEADY COMBUSTION OF CARBON.

Abstract

The report covers an investigation of the unsteady and steady combustion of carbon and provides an explanation for the zero order paradox encountered in carbon combustion in the kinetically dominant regime; it has yielded experimental and analytical data on oscillatory combustion of carbon, as of now not known to be reported in the literature; it has produced an improvement in the experimental technique which yields results that are more revealing than obtainable previously; and finally, it has resulted in the development of a carbon combustion simulation computer program.
