NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE STUDIES ON 2-CARBAHEXABORANE(9) DERIVATIVES.

Abstract

Using multiple resonance techniques, the proton and boron-11 nuclear magnetic resonance spectra are intercorrelated and assignments are made for the resonances of 2-, 3-, and 4-methyl-2-carbahexaborane derivatives. Of special note is the individual observation and assignment of each type of bridge hydrogen in each derivative. From these and other assignments the chemical shift values are correlated among related proton and boron environments in the pentagonal pyramidal series CnB(6-n)H(10-n)(n = 0-4). (Author)
