STUDY OF PULSE AND WAVE PHENOMENA IN PLASMAS.

Abstract

The report describes an investigation of methods of measuring the electron density in a reentry sheath. The methods include (1) excitation of electroacoustic resonances, (2) observation of enhanced breakdown, (3) short pulse diagnostics and (4) analysis of flush-mounted electrostatic probe characteristics. All these schemes were tested with stationary low-pressure laboratory plasma. (Author)
