Abstract

A brief review of the Project THEMIS research program in 'separated flows' is presented. The review covers (1) Smooth wall separation in oscillating flow, (2) Turbulent subsonic axisymmetric near-wake, (3) Convective heat transfer in separated flow, (4) Supersonic axisymmetric near-wake, (5) Nonequilibrium processes in separated flow, (6) Numerical methods for free shear layer problems, and (7) Flow reattachment.
