INFRARED SPECTRA OF SOME MONOMER AND POLYMER ALKOXYTITANIUM ACYLATES,

Abstract

The IR-spectra of tributoxytitanium methacrylate, polybutoxytitanium oxane methacrylate, and polybutoxytitanium oxane butyl maleinates (in the 1900-1700/cm region) are described for the first time. It was found that, as in the spectra of monomer alkoxytitanium acylates, the presence of the COO-Ti groupings in the polybutoxy-titanium oxane molecules causes the appearance in the spectrum of intensive absorption bands in the 1570-1550 and 1440-1425/cm regions; these bands are characteristic for the ionized carboxyl group.
