A SIMPLIFIED METHOD FOR DESIGNING SLIDE BEARINGS FOR SHIP POWER PLANTS,

Abstract

Simple relations are established that permit rapid and sufficiently accurate determination of the working capacity of sliding bearings. The work was done because the usual simplified method gives great errors in determining the required dimensions for prolonged operation with minimal losses under conditions of fluid friction. Graphs of the simplified relations were calculated on a Ural 2 digital computer. A simplified method is proposed for determining the minimum allowable thickness of the oil layer. (Author)
