ALUMINUM-BASE CASTING ALLOY,

Abstract

The Author Certificate introduces an aluminum-base casting alloy containing silicon, manganese, copper, and boron. To improve the physical and mechanical properties at room and elevated temperatures, its composition is set as follows: 8-10 percent Si, 0.4-0.65 percent Mg, 0.4-0.8 percent Cu, 0.002-005 percent B, 0.1-0.4 Cd, 0.3-0.8 Nd, less than 0.5 percent Fe, less than 0.3 percent Zn, and Al remainder. A modification additionally contains 0.25 percent Zr. (Author)
