FLOOD PLAIN INFORMATION, LEFT-HAND CREEK. VOLUME I. BOULDER COUNTY, COLORADO.

Abstract

The report defines the flood characteristics of Left-Hand Creek located in Boulder County, Colorado. It is the first of three flood plain information volumes covering streams in Boulder County and was prepared in response to an application made by the Denver Regional Council of Governments through the Colorado Water Conservation Board. The purpose of this report is to identify the flood hazard areas in order to assist local officials and others in making prudent use of the stream valley. The report presents the basin and stream characteristics, flood histories and probable effects of floods greater than any of record. The report defines the flood plain of the most recent flood of record, the Intermediate Regional Flood and the Standard Project flood. (Author)
