SOME ONE-DIMENSIONAL SOLUTIONS OF NONLINEAR WAVES OF A RATE-SENSITIVE, ELASTOPLASTIC MATERIAL

Abstract

Two classes of closed from solutions of one-dimensional, nonlinear waves of a rate-sensitive, elastoplastic material are reported. One class of these solutions is self-similar and the other class consists of constant speed propagations. Applications of these solutions to unsteady motions behind propagating discontinuities are also considered.
