AUTOMATIC COMPUTATION OF IMPORTANCE SAMPLING FUNCTIONS FOR MONTE CARLO TRANSPORT CODES - PHASE I.

Abstract

Methods for the automatic generation of importance sampling functions for three-dimensional Monte Carlo radiation transport codes were developed, based on fast computation of approximate solutions of the adjoint transport equation. Computer implementation was carried out for the one-dimensional case. (Author)
