ON THE FACTORIAL MOMENTS OF THE NUMBER OF BUSY SERVERS IN THE QUEUE GI/G/INFINITY.

Abstract

In the report the stochastic process representing the number of busy servers in the queue GI/G/infinity is discussed. In particular, an expression that relates successive factorial moments of the process is derived. This expression leads to an integral equation on the probability generating function of the process and the long run solution for the expected number of busy servers. (Author)
