PROPOSED METHOD FOR DETERMINING ALL THE RATE CONSTANTS OF PROCESSES INVOLVING THE LOWEST TRIPLET STATE AT LOW TEMPERATURE.

Abstract

Proposed is a simple method for determining the rate constants of the processes to and from the different z.f. levels of the lowest triplet state for which both radiative and nonradiative processes occur with different rates (i.e., the general cases). The method is based on steady-state phosphorescence intensity measurements with and without microwave saturation of the different z.f. transitions. The only requirement to use this method, like all other methods, is that the temperature is low enough that the spin-lattice processes are assumed absent. (Author)
