OPTIMUM SYSTEMS OF HEAT DISSIPATION BY RADIATION (SURVEY),
Abstract
The article discusses available data on various optimal systems of evacuating heat energy by radiation. A radiating system with fins of optimal shape is considered first, together with the problem of minimizing the weight of the system. The influence of the number of fins on the optimal form of the fins, and also on the cross section of a starlike radiator, is presented in graphs. Next, systems with heat radiating fins of rectangular and triangular cross sections are considered and the results obtained by various authors are analyzed. A comparison of various systems is given in a graph with respect to their mass efficiency. Systems of heat energy evacuation by belt radiators designed for minimizing meteoroid vulnerability are discussed and a comparison between the specific weights of belt and conventional finned radiators is presented in a graph on the basis of previously determined data.
