A DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC CODING AND INPUT OF IMAGES FROM BLACK-AND-WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS INTO AN EVM,

Abstract

A device has been developed and tested for automatic coding and input of black-and-white images into a 'Minsk-2' electronic computer. The optical-mechanical part of the FTA-P photo telegraph transmitter is used to read the images. The rate of coding is 120 lines per minute. The size of the photograph which can be encoded is determined by the number of lines scanned, the number of elements per line and by the available storage capacity of the computer. The maximum resolution capability of the device is 0.3 mm.
