SYMMETRY PROPERTIES AND THE BOLTZMANN DISTRIBUTION.

Abstract

The necessary conditions for the equilibrium of the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution are found. Using the analyticity of the S-matrix, the conditions necessary for equilibrium are found. They are different from Stueckelberg's conditions, occupying an intermediate position between detailed balance and Stueckelberger's conditions. They are a consequence of the reversibility of the equations of motion of microparticles with time.
