METHOD FOR INVESTIGATING ENERGY LOSSES IN DRY FRICTION JOINTS WITH ROTAPRINT (ROTARY) LUBRICATION,

Abstract

The problem of assuring the operating capability of friction joints in vacuo and at elevated temperatures is becoming increasingly important and, in this context, the use of solid lubricants and self-lubricating materials is highly promising. One of the methods for introducing solid lubricant to the working zone of the friction couple is the rotary or ('rotaprint') method in which the working gear is in contact with a lubricating gear that does not transmit any work load but assures, in the course of its wear, the transfer of solid lubricant to the friction contacts of the gearings.
