HIGH-MELTING LUBRICANTS BASED ON COMPLEX CALCIUM SOAPS OF COMMERCIAL SYNTHETIC FATTY ACIDS,

Abstract

Synthetic fatty acids can be used in the production of high-quality complex calcium lubricants which can be used in a wide range of temperatures. The best calcium lubricants are obtained when using the wide heat-treated and distilled fraction of acids C10-C20 which does not contain acids higher than C20. Based on volumetric and mechanical properties and the results of bench tests, the complex synthetic calcium lubricants essentially surpass contemporary lubricants of ordinary assignment: solid lubricants, konstalin, 1-13, and others. They can find wide application in the national economy as a universal lubricant. (Author)
