LIGHT ABSORPTION BY MOLECULAR CRYSTALS.

Abstract

The influence of exciton-phonon interaction on the shape of the light absorption band is studied by the method of retarded Green's functions. The specific choice made of the exciton-phonon interaction model makes it possible to obtain finite expressions for the mass operator of the excitons in the case of small exciton densities and weak exciton-phonon coupling. A quantitative investigation is made of the absorption band taking into account the interaction of an exciton of positive effective mass with phonons of the optical and acoustic branches. The temperature dependence of the absorption bands is investigated. (Author)
