ALL-UNION CONFERENCE ON ACOUSTICS,

Abstract

The sixth All-Union Conference on Acoustics, dedicated to Soviet achievements in acoustics during the last fifty years, has been held in Moscow (date not given). The nearly 800 papers presented by Soviet and foreign scientists at the plenary session dealt mainly with basic problems in modern acoustics and ocean acoustics, the propagation of sound waves in solid structures under the effects of dispersion and losses, the technology of ultrasound and its effect on matter, noise suppressor theory, the use of electronic computers and the application of the theory of algorithms for acoustic calculations, and vibration damping.
