MY OPINIONS ON THE ELIMINATION OF END OSCILLATIONS OF ARC-SHAPED ROLLERS IN A DOUBLE-ROW, SPHERICAL, CENTRIPETAL, ROLLER BEARING,

Abstract

Double-column spherical centripetal roller bearings are widely used in mining machinery, transportation equipment, and other heavy equipment because these bearings can bear heavier loads than other types of bearings. The rollers must be processed with good precision in order to minimize the end face oscillation. The author presents his views on the requirements for the rollers and the ways and means to improve the degree of their precision to insure the normal operation of this type of roller bearing without excessive end face oscillation. Details are given on the processing techniques with four technical drawings as illustrations. Twelve formulas are provided. (Author)
