A DEVICE FOR MUFFLING THE LF NOISE COMPONENTS OF AERODYNAMIC OR GAS DYNAMIC INSTALLATIONS,

Abstract

A device is described for muffling the LF noise components of aerodynamic and gas dynamic installations. In order to reduce its dimensions and cost, its sound-absorbing section is made in the form of a single column whose diameter is approximately equal to the wavelength of the noise component having the lowest frequency and which consists in a layer of sound-absorbing granular material protected from the thermal and mechanical action of the gas by a layer of large stones and a perforated metal jacket.
