TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF THE FREQUENCY OF RUBY LASER EMISSION with a phthalocyanin shutter,

Abstract

A Q-spoiled ruby laser (120 x 12 mm ruby), pumped by an IFP-2000 lamp with a phthalocyanin shutter was used to determine the temperature dependence of laser emission. Interferograms were taken at 3 degrees temperature intervals with a Fabry-Perot interferometer. The results showed a shift in generation frequency toward large wavelengths with an increase in ruby temperature. The average value of the shift was 0.1/cm(-1) per degree in the 15-30 degree centigrade region of ruby temperature change.
