FACTORS THAT ENHANCE JET MIXING.

Abstract

The main objective of the experimental study was the enhancement of mixing of jets. Three different techniques of mixing were studied: (a) turbulence production at the jet interface, including the case where the jet or primary stream and secondary stream velocities are equal, (b) addition of a swirl component to the jet, (c) an increase in jet density. All experiments were conducted in a coflowing and ducted secondary air stream atmospheric conditions. (Author)
