VARIANCE-COMPONENT ESTIMATION FOR THE UNBALANCED ONE-WAY RANDOM CLASSIFICATION-A CRITIQUE.

Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive and critical treatment of the problem of making point estimates of the variance components associated with the possibly-unbalanced one-way random classification. Both Bayesian and various non-Bayesian viewpoints are covered. The effects of relaxing the assumptions ordinarily imposed on the model are considered. (Author)
