FOURIER ANALYSIS AND COMPENSATION OF STAGGER ERRORS OF SEMIKINEMATIC THEODOLITE AXES,

Abstract

A complete description, discussion and scientific analysis of stagger errors found in the vertical axis of a theodolite is presented. Stagger errors are the deviations of the real vertical axis of a theodolite from the ideal axis which are due to imperfections in vertical axis bearings. An understanding of the stagger error source is a prerequisite to high precision geodetic surveying involving theodolites. (Author)
