Abstract

The report discusses the chemistry of heteroorganic compounds. It deals primarily with the history and major developments in this field as they relate to the USSR and Soviet scientists. The following is a breakdown in which this history is presented: Organomagnesium compounds and organic derivatives of alkali metals; Organic derivatives of mercury, zinc, and cadmium; Organic derivatives of germanium, tin, and lead; Organophosphorus compounds; Organometallic compounds of the arsenic subgroup; Organofluorine compounds; 'Onium' compounds; and Organic derivatives of the transition metals (most detailed relative to research on ferrocene). A Bibliography of 660 entries (primarily Soviet) is also included. (Author)
