HIGH-FREQUENCY SINGLE-CYCLE SHIFT REGISTER,

Abstract

A transistorized single-cycle shift register capable of operating at frequencies up to 8 MHz is described. The circuit functioning is analyzed, the component values are calculated, and the types of transistors and diodes are selected. In this circuit, the power gain may exceed unity, which permits designing multicycle shift registers. The gain is independent of frequency and of active-element parameters. A 2-MHz register of this type hooked up with P416B transistors and D18 diodes was tested. It exhibited satisfactory functioning with a frequency variation of plus or minus 10 percent and at temperatures up to 60C.
