INERTIALESS CIRCULAR ARRAY ANTENNAS. VOLUME II: THEORY OF AN ELECTRONICALLY SCANNED AZIMUTHAL CONCENTRIC RING CIRCULAR ARRAY.

Abstract

The theory of an electronically scanned azimuthal concentric ring circular array applicably for target tracking is described and discussed in this volume while the design and experimental results are presented in Volume 1. The analysis has been performed for a circular array of n concentric rings. Each ring contains 4k quarter-wavelength monopoles where k is the number of the ring counting from the center. A modified hybrid ring was designed for feeding the elements of each ring; this power divider operates bilaterally as is demonstrated by experimental results. A method of obtaining a sum and difference pattern has also been investigated. (Author)
