GYRATORY COMPACTION OF SOIL. REPORT 2. LEAN CLAY, DATA REPORT.

Abstract

Tests were performed to determine the effect of three gyratory compactor variables (angle of gyration, vertical pressure, and number of revolutions) on the compaction characteristics of lean clay. The lean clay was also compacted by the impact compaction method for comparison with the gyratory compaction results. These data are to be used for an analysis exploring the use of the gyratory compactor in the design of pavement structures for present and future traffic.
