TIRE WEAR MODEL.

Abstract

Recent studies on tire wear reveal the importance of mechanochemical processes in highly elastic polymers. Mechanical cleavages of macromolecules have been found to play a very important role, since the free macroradicals formed promote the beginning of complex chemical chain processes, leading ultimately to a profound change in the structure of the macromolecules and the properties of the polymer substances formed from them. Chemical compositions have effect on wear resistance, also environmental conditions affect the wear rate of the tire. Both effects were studied.
