GRAPHS OF SELECTED DATA FROM SATELLITE 1963 38C FOR 1966.
Abstract
Satellite 1963 38C was launched on September 28, 1963 into a circular, polar orbit at 1100 km altitude. Its instrumentation includes silicon surface barrier detectors, designed to measure mirroring electrons and protons, and Li-drifted cubes for omnidirectional measurement. The electron spectrometer measures integral flux for Ee = or > 0.28, 1.2, 2.4, and 3.6 Mev. The proton spectrometer measures protons with energies in the ranges 1.2 to 2.2, 2.2 to 8.2, 8.2 to 25, and 25 to 100 Mev. Three omnidirectional detectors measure fluxes of particles for which Ee > 0.28 Mev, Ep > 2.2 Mev; Ee > 0.41 Mev, Ep > 8.5 Mev; and Ee > 1.8 Mev, Ep > 25 Mev. (Author)
