EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF COMBUSTION IN SOLID PROPELLANTS AND IN GASEOUS SYSTEMS.

Abstract

Applying the technique of the analogical burner (multimicrojet burner) it is possible to measure the heat transferred from the burning zone to the surface of the burner which plays the role of the regressing surface of a burning solid propellant. The study has been achieved in two extreme cases of burning conditions: fully individual premixed flamelets and purely individual diffusion flamelets. The burning mixture consisted of methane, oxygen and nitrogen. A theoretical interpretation is given to the experimental data. The second part of this report consists in an introduction to the comparative study of chemiluminescence and chemiionization in flames propagating in the most varied mixtures of gaseous fuels and oxidizers.
