THE USE OF GAUSSIAN FUNCTIONS IN RADIO ASTRONOMY SOURCE MEASUREMENTS.

Abstract

The use of Gaussian functions as models of radio source distributions and antenna pattern functions is examined. A technique for analyzing radio astronomy source data is developed and compared with a commonly used method. Antenna pointing errors are considered as are distortion effects due to low pass filtering. (Author)
