CORRELATION OF X-RAY RADIATION (2 - 12 A) WITH MICROWAVE RADIATION (10.7 cm) FROM THE NON-FLARING SUN.
Abstract
The present paper utilizes (a) an extended, homogeneous body of solar x-ray observations (2 - 12 A) by University of Iowa equipment on the earth-orbiting satellite Explorer 33 and the moor-orbiting satellite Explorer 35 for 734 days during the period 1 July 1966 to 25 December 1968 and (b) the 10.7 cm (2800 MHz) daily solar radio flux values of the Algonquin Radio Observatory. The specific purposes of the work are to establish the relationship between daily average values of the x-ray and radio fluxes from the whole disc of the non-flaring sun and to consider the significance of the relationship.
