RESEARCH PROGRAM IN THE THEORY OF ELEMENTARY PARTICLES,

Abstract

The document is a summary of the research performed which includes the following: (1) Investigations of radiation and energy in classical general relativity. General invariant expressions for these quantities are discussed for spaces that become asymptotically flat sufficiently rapidly; (2) Quantization of the Yang-Mills field. Rigorous quantizations in specific gauges are described as well as the general difficulties of quantizing non-linear gauge type theories; (3) Spinor techniques in relativity. The initial value problem on null surfaces for linearized gravitational theory and other Lorentz covariant theories are described; (4) Extended electron models in classical electromagnetic theory. Possible directions for future research in these four fields are briefly mentioned. (Author)
