THE GOODNESS-OF-FIT STATISTICS OF KOLMOGOROV AND SMIRNOV,

Abstract

A. Kolmogorov and N. Smirnov have proposed several new statistics for testing goodness of fit. To encourage their wider use, this memorandum summarizes their theory and applications, and compares them with the classical chi square statistic for testing goodness of fit. (Author)
