A NEW COMPUTER METHOD OF SYSTEM ANALYSIS,

Abstract

A novel machine method of inverting linear operators (or, solving operator equations) is presented. The method is iterative with guaranteed convergence and it uses the original operator or a simple modification of it to test the successively more accurate solutions. It thus minimizes accumulation of round-off errors and provides the control of accuracy to the operator. For a parametric family of problems, it also promises a significant saving in overall computing time. In addition the method applies to all bounded linear Hilbert space operators for which no systematic inversion procedures exist. (Author)
