THE BIAXIAL INTERFEROMETRIC STRAIN GAGE.

Abstract

The extension of interferometric strain measurement to biaxial strain fields using pyramidal diamond indenters to apply the gage was examined. Indentations so applied were found to give accurate measurements of the local strain. A configuration of three hexagonal indentations permits determination of general biaxial strains. (Author)
