HUMAN FACTORS STUDY OF THE COMPATIBILITY OF THE QMC EQUIPPED SOLDIER WITH FIELD COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT UNDER COLD WET CONDITIONS

Abstract

Incompatibilities were observed during the performance of typical field communications activities within an Infantry Battle Group. Handgear and trigger-finger mittens were involved in serious incompatibilities. The other items involved were the pile cap, the old black rubber insulated (Mickey-Mouse) boots, the helmet and the helmet liner as well as the TE-33 tool equipment, the M-1 rifle, and the gas mask.
