RESULTS OF 1967 AEROLOGICAL OZONE SOUNDINGS AND TOTAL AMOUNT OF OZONE MEASUREMENTS AT THE HOHENPEISSENBERG METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY.

Abstract

Vertical profiles of the atmosphere during periods of thunderstorm and frontal activity are being studied under this contract. This report covers ozone soundings in 1967 at the Hohenpeissenberg Meteorological Observatory. The semi-automatic method of evaluating the frequency recordings of the sonde was used. Raw data were processed on the Siemens 2002 computer of the Hahn-Meitner Institute of Berlin, for time, pressure and humidity sondes. Ozone raw data were processed at Deutscher Wetterdienst, Offenbach/Main. From 11 July 1967 onward, the total ozone content obtained from each ozone sonde ascent was compared with the respective values measured by the Dobson spectrophotometer and was corrected, as necessary. Ozone sondes were launched on each geophysical day of a week. The report presents results in tables and ozonagrams. (Author)
