CALCULATION OF THE NOISES IN A MATTED OSCILLATING ROD DUE TO THE PENETRATION OF THE RADIATION OF PUMPING,

Abstract

By employing various formulae, and using laser data for ruby and neodymium glass rods, varying their length, radius, pumping radiation, and determining values for luminance, amplification, and knowing the reflection coefficient, coefficient of internal losses, operating temperature, and radiation densities, the authors produced, analyzed and compared theoretical and experimental data that are in satisfactory agreement. Thus, noise density can be evaluated when the dimensions of the laser materials are varied, and also certain regularities involving the amplification of the noises in these rods can be calculated.
