VELOCITY AND THERMAL PROFILES IN VALVES AND THEIR EFFECTS ON VALVE EROSION,

Abstract

Hydrodynamic and thermal flow solutions are obtained for leakage flows in hydraulic valves using a two-dimensional incompressible viscous flow converging towards a sink in a 90 deg channel. Examples of applications to aircraft fluids are given. Effects of peak temperatures in the thermal boundary layer on the valve erosion phenomena are discussed. (Author)
