CARRYING CAPACITY OF SLIDING BEARINGS WITH FLOATING ELEMENTS LOADED BY A VARIABLE DIRECTION FORCE,

Abstract

The paper investigates the carrying capacity of several types of sliding bearings subjected to a rotating force. An inversion method was used which consisted of solving the basic equations within the coordinate system related to the line of action of the load. It was determined that bearings with floating elements have superior load carrying capacity compared to more conventional type bearings without floating elements. (Author)
